Industry Recognized Credentials

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing identifies that possession of a CDA issued by the Council on Professional Recognition qualifies a person for a Child Development Permit at the Associate Teacher Level. This provides the foundation for colleges to implement the Industry Licensure optional.

The project scope of work included the creation of a crosswalk to give some insights on how the requirements of the Preschool CDA  align with the components of some entry level courses as well as provide a model of a mapping process for colleges who wanted to consider how the CDA components aligned with other courses if they chose.

The decision for which courses a college would grant credit for lies with the department faculty. The crosswalk developed is for information only to demonstrate how CDA requirements and course objectives MAY align. The courses mapped were selected as representative samples.
